Our Story:

Owner and North Fork Valley native, Hannah Halladay started Blue Sky Baking Company in 2018 after returning to the area and falling in love with the burgeoning local food scene. What began as a small, one-woman venture baking for the local community has quickly blossomed into a full-scale dessert company, serving over 50 wedding couples and countless celebrations across all of Western Colorado each year.

Blue Sky Baking Company is located inside Farm Runners Station in downtown Hotchkiss. We offer an array of freshly baked pastries and desserts on a daily basis, as well as custom Wedding & Celebration Cakes and desserts to serve all of Western Colorado.

Meet The Baker:

Hi, I’m Hannah, owner, lead designer and head baker at Blue Sky. When I started this venture I was looking for a way to connect with my beloved community and to share the beauty and bounty of our valley through the medium I know best, cake.

I spent the first 5 years of my baking career in Jacksonville, Florida. Beginning in high-end catering, and later co-owning and operating a busy wedding cake and dessert shop there. Before my return home to Colorado in 2017, I spent time traveling up the East Coast working on various Organic farms. This incredible, eye-opening adventure helped to deepen my appreciation for the work farmers put into getting quality food on our tables, as well as awakening a deep love for growing flowers of every shape and size. Locally grown ingredients and my ever expanding flower garden are the fuel for my creative fire and my largest source of inspiration inside the Blue Sky kitchen.

Shortly after starting Blue Sky Baking Co. I was lucky enough to add my Mom to the team. What began with washing dishes or delivering a cake here and there, quickly developed into a partnership this business couldn’t survive without. It certainly takes two to pull this operation off and I am so thankful to work beside this strong, hardworking woman who not only instilled in me the importance of community-centered living but also fostered my enduring love for local food—a passion that continues to inspire me today.

The incredible support we’ve received from our community on this journey has been remarkable!  I’m so thankful to each and every client and connection made along the way. Thank you for allowing us to do what we love every day.
