Meet The Baker
Hi I’m Hannah, owner and head baker at Blue Sky. I started Blue Sky Baking Co. in 2018 as a way to connect with my beloved community and to share the beauty and bounty of our valley through the medium I know best, cake.
A North Fork Valley native, I spent the first 5 years of my baking career in Jacksonville, Florida. Beginning in high-end catering, and later co-owning and operating a busy wedding cake and dessert shop. I jumped head first into the world of pastry and haven’t looked back! Before returning to the valley in 2017 I spent time traveling up the East Coast volunteering on various Organic Flower and Vegetable farms, looking to decompress from the hustle of life in the city and rekindle my connection to the natural world. This incredibly eye opening adventure helped spark a deep appreciation for the work farmers put in to getting quality food on our tables, as well as the undeniably delicious difference that fresh, local food possesses. I also walked away with a SERIOUS love for growing flowers.
Upon arriving back in Western Colorado I quickly fell in love with the local food and flower scene (thank you Zephyros Farm & Garden), met my fellow food loving partner (conveniently also a chef), and decided to put down roots.
Shortly after starting Blue Sky Baking Co., my Mother joined me in the kitchen. Beginning with washing dishes, or delivering a cake here and there, she has quickly become the glue that holds the whole operation together! Our work can be found in Farm Runners Station in Hotchkiss, Sips Wine Bar in Cedaredge, 246 Coffee in Hotchkiss, and at various weddings and celebrations around the Western Slope and beyond.
